September 2023 In Review

September was a busy month for our team, with lots of updates to Grill.chat, a successful Polkadot treasury proposal, and lots of informative threads on X. Let’s dive in.

Grill.chat

Kicking off the month, we added a fun little side feature to Grill: AI personalities of Sigmund Freud, Satoshi Nakamoto, and Winston Churchill. Ask them some interesting questions and see what they say!

Throughout the rest of September, we released a few more awesome features. Push notifications will alert you on your desktop if someone replies to your message, increasing user re-engagement with Grill. Unread message counters will make sure you never miss any of the interesting conversations on Grill.chat. Finally, custom nicknames improve user personalization, and will help others to recognize and remember you on the platform!

PolkaVerse Integrates Grill.chat

PolkaVerse received an interesting integration, replacing the old comments section with a side panel powered by Grill.chat, allowing readers to comment without a wallet and from mobile browsers.

OpenComm

As part of our campaign to promote our Polkadot treasury proposal to build an Open Communication Layer for the ecosystem, we published a number of threads throughout the month, discussing communication methods, what OpenComm actually is, and why on-chain communications are important.

The proposal successfully passed on September 14th!

We rounded out last month’s content with another thread, focused on how Subsocial and Grill.chat are leveraging OpenComm’s tech to lead the way in terms of smooth UX in the Polkadot ecosystem.

Polkadot Community Call

Content Lead Yung Beef was invited to September’s Polkadot Community Call to share our recent updates to Grill.chat, and spoke a bit about upcoming features and Creator Staking. Start listening at 23:34!

That’s all for September, so let’s get ready for Creator Staking and token transfers, and we’ll see you on-chain!
