Welcome to the August 24th Ecosystem Updates!
You are Here
Some say that seven is a lucky number, and in the seventh iteration of the SORA Integrated Plan we can see why. As mentioned last time, the SORA Kusama Parachain is live. While this is great news, our vision involves a bridge between the SORA Substrate chain and the SORA Kusama parachain. We are happy to announce that work on this bridge is progressing, but delays in the production version of the Parity Bridges Common is slowing down progress. Solutions that involve a bridge between the SORA network and the SORA Kusama Parachain that focus only on assets are being explored to speed things up. A testnet HRMP connection with our frens at Karura has been set up and we are studying the best ways to manage the parachain assets, that is compatible with the assets on Polkaswap. There has been some progress on BEEFY proofs by the team at Parity and we reiterate our availability and support to improve this implementation for the overall Dotsama ecosystem.
The SORA card and SORA IBAN initiative has also received some important progress this fortnight! During the last Ecosystem Updates, we submitted a survey for you to fill regarding your preferences for functionality to be available for card and IBAN at launch. Your voice has been heard and we are working hard with our partners to make sure these implementations are available. The SORA card and SORA IBAN will be revolutionary as these functionalities will be accessible through a self-custodial wallet interface, ensuring that all your finances are in the palm of your hand, wonderful! Imagine a Revolut-style interface, integrated into the SORA Wallet and Polkaswap!
The upgrade to Substrate 4 is progressing steadily and once this has been successfully tested, there will be much more progress on the milestones to update. Speaking of successful testing, the Trustless Multi-EVM bridge was made available for people to test last week. At the moment it doesn’t have a UI, so users without advanced skills will find it next to impossible to use the bridge as-is, but the good news is that a friendly (and beautiful) UI is in the works, which will allow users of all skills to help us test. Thank you to all the devs who have helped us testing the new EVM bridge so far; we appreciate your time and input.
XSTUSD-base pools for Polkaswap should be able to be tested soon. These are XYK pools on Polkaswap that use XSTUSD instead of XOR as a base pair, in order to limit impermanent rektage. If successful, they can be launched on the testnet shortly and then head to production.
On to another requested feature: order books. We are working on the architecture to implement this functionality that will certainly level-up Polkaswap with a fully on-chain and decentralized order book. This new and exciting feature will cement Polkaswap’s place as the liquidity hub of the Dotsama ecosystem. We don’t believe in rushed development as we want to provide the best in terms of security and functionality, so please bear with us.
We are happy to announce that the DEO Arena Season 1 is LIVE! Try your hand in PvP combats to take home a part of the $20 000 worth of XOR in prizes available! You can use your NFT boost and referral code to improve your chances in the arena, so see you there!
Finally, there are some interesting updates to the SORA Decentralized Development programme, read all about it in the SORA Ecosystem Updates.
That was it for this time’s You Are Here, we look forward to updating you in two weeks!
You can find the summary of the integrated plan points published in the July 14 ecosystem updates on the SORA Wiki.

🐈⬛ SORA Request for Proposal updates:
🆕 Updates from the Decentralized development programme have been quiet recently, both in terms of community submissions as well as programme improvement and optimisation and we are happy to announce that a lot of work has been going on behind the scenes to improve and ease the experience for the community submitting their proposals, and the developers working on and implementing them.
As the SORA Integrated Roadmap was recently released, we thought that a way to make the experience of using github less mystical and more in tune with improvement submission systems that users are more comfortable with, therefore, we have implemented RFP as issues.
This means that instead of (or along with) opening a PR, you can now submit an issue that has the same fields as those needed to submit an RFP! Who hasn’t opened a complaint request or submitted a ticket to a customer service portal? OK, granted there are people who haven’t, there are also a lot of people who have, certainly more than the number of people who have branched a repository and submitted a pull request.
We hope this sounds interesting and to motivate you further to submit a request or comment on one, here is a quick walkthrough on how to do it;
1- Navigate to https://github.com/sora-xor/rfps/issues
2- Start a New Issue, then hit Get Started.
3- Fill in all the fields as you would when submitting an RFP, each field will now have hints as to what to add, in case you get stuck in any of the steps!
4- Once you are done filling in the fields, hit Submit New Issue and then stay tuned for any comments or concerns that may be raised!
After creating an RFP using this new process, you can follow it’s progress in the issue section, where other users and developers will be able to discuss implementations and progress conveniently and easily, as well as mark the proposal as complete once it has been successfully worked on!
We hope this will motivate you to add your proposals for development and we look forward to all the interesting ideas you, as valuable community and important part of this project, submit in the best interest of the network and its users.
We will continue to fine-tune this process and update the SORA Decentralised Development guide with a concise walkthrough. Please let us know your thoughts about these improvements in the SORA network community chats on Telegram!

Thank you for your attention during these updates, we hope for your continued support of the SORA network with the goal to achieve a supranational multiverse economic system. We look forward to seeing you in two weeks for the next update.
About SORA, Polkaswap, and Fearless Wallet
SORA is a new economic system aimed at creating a supranational multiverse economic system with built-in tools for decentralized finance (DeFi). The SORA network implements a new way of parachain architecture on Polkadot and Kusama network, with the capability to bridge external blockchains (like Ethereum) to the Polkadot ecosystem.
One of the DeFi applications that will run on the SORA network is Polkaswap, a noncustodial liquidity aggregating, cross-chain AMM DEX designed uniquely for the Polkadot ecosystem with boundless liquidity through its one-of-a-kind Aggregate Liquidity Technology (ALT).
Fearless Wallet is a bespoke mobile wallet designed for the decentralized future on the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystem, with native support for iOS and Android platforms. A premium user experience, fast performance, and secure storage for your accounts. Fearless Wallet will integrate Polkaswap for easy, decentralized swaps of assets.
